You don’t need to use cleansing water when washing your face in the morning.

During sleep, first, you are not wearing makeup; second, your skin does not accumulate a large amount of oil-soluble dirt, and sebum secretion is much less than during the day. Therefore, cleansing water is generally unnecessary for morning face washing.
Why Cleansing Water Isn’t Required for Morning Face Washing
The primary function of cleansing water or cleansing oil is to remove makeup thoroughly, effectively clearing away residual cosmetic residues and dirt. When you’re not wearing makeup, these products can also help eliminate oil-soluble impurities like car exhaust fumes and kitchen oil smoke, as well as excess sebum secreted by the skin, achieving a deep cleansing effect.
However, since you don’t wear makeup while sleeping, and your face accumulates minimal oil and dust overnight, there is no need to use cleansing water in the morning.
Is Washing Your Face with Cold Water Good in Summer?
Washing your face with cold water—here referring to water that feels noticeably cool—is definitely not a good idea.
Many people claim to prefer cold water for face washing, believing it tightens pores better and gives a more refreshing boost. But the facial skin is thin, delicate, and highly sensitive, with numerous tiny nerves and blood vessels underneath. Frequent exposure to cold water can irritate the skin, potentially triggering skin issues and even nerve-related discomfort. While cold water is not ideal, this doesn’t mean washing your face with hot water is a better alternative either.
