Enlarged Pores and Breakouts

Some people rush to wash their faces with cold water right after coming home sweating profusely, just for the instant coolness. Little do they know that when your face is covered in sweat, your skin temperature is relatively high. If it is suddenly shocked by cold water before cooling down naturally, the sudden temperature drop will cause the facial pores to contract sharply. As a result, oil, dirt and sweat trapped in the pores cannot be cleaned out thoroughly.
This will eventually lead to enlarged pores; for sensitive skin, it may even trigger acute inflammation. What’s worse, people with oily skin are more likely to suffer from acne and breakouts because of this.
Failure to Remove Oil Effectively
In summer, many women wear sunscreen or primer on a daily basis, and the skin accumulates a lot of oil and grime over the day. That’s why the double-cleansing method is highly recommended for face washing—first remove makeup, then cleanse your face—regardless of whether you’ve worn makeup or not.
Makeup removers are generally oil-soluble, which allows them to dissolve the stubborn dirt deep in the pores and prevent acne formation. After using a makeup remover, follow up with a foaming cleanser and wash your skin thoroughly with lukewarm water.
