Concealer should not be used as a substitute for BB cream or foundation. In contrast, BB cream and foundation are formulated for full-face coverage. Besides providing moderate concealing effects, many of these products contain skin-beneficial ingredients such as botanical extracts and multivitamins—components that are rarely found in concealers.

The correct order of application is to use concealer after BB cream or foundation. If your skin is clear with minimal imperfections, concealer may even be unnecessary after applying your base product.
